What are dental veneers?
Veneers are thin shells made of porcelain that are used to dramatically improve the appearance of a damaged or flawed smile. Bonded to the front of your teeth with a special cement, veneers can last for over ten years when taken care of properly. Our seasoned dentist, Dr. Navkiran Dhillon, may suggest dental veneers in Ware, Massachusetts to:
- Improve the shape of a tooth
- Repair breaks, cracks, or fractures
- Whiten your smile
- Help make your teeth look straighter
- Close spaces and gaps between teeth
Veneers are an excellent option for redesigning the look of your entire smile.
Do veneers hurt?
By utilizing the great skill and compassion of our dental team, receiving veneers is virtually painless. The process generally takes two to three visits to our dental office. During the first visit, we will discuss how you want your smile to look and begin preparing your teeth by gently removing a small layer of enamel. This is done to accommodate the size of the veneers and prevent your teeth from looking abnormally large or bulky. Impressions of your teeth are then taken and sent to a dental laboratory, where your veneers are custom made. While your veneers are being created, we will provide you with a temporary veneer to maintain your smile.
When the veneers are back at our office, we will make any final adjustments and permanently bond the veneers to the front of your teeth. To learn more about how veneers can benefit your smile, please contact us at Dhillon Family & Cosmetic Dentistry today.
